SUMMARY:International Women's Day - Self-Empowerment Shoot at FEMX Studio
DESCRIPTION:What does empowerment mean to you? What does that look like?\nAre you in lingerie\, or sweatpants? Maybe a suit\, or ball gown! \nWe are seeking five participants for a Self-Empowerment Mini Session Marathon\, on International Women’s Day 3/8/22. \nWomen need the opportunity to be seen\, if even just by themselves!\nThe session fee (ticket price) will be donated to Center for Community Solutions. \n \nCCS is committed to helping survivors of intimate partner violence and sexual assault lead safer and healthier lives. \nIf you want to donate to CCS SD directly\, or volunteer\, please visit their website \nhttps://www.ccssd.org/how-to-help/volunteer.html \n** PLEASE NOTE: If you choose boudoir-style photos and decide to post them publicly\, we ask that you make not mention of the charity\, Center for Community Solutions. This is not an issue of the photography\, but more out of sensitivity to how some survivors may react to boudoir photography that has nothing to do with the positives of this form. Thank you for your understanding. \nLocal female-owned businesses are donating hair/makeup\, each participant will receive gift bags\, and one lucky lady will win a prize from Savage X Fenty!\n \n\nIn order to apply for a spot\, you must agree to the following:\n\nParticipants will have the opportunity to purchase their photos as beautiful artwork\, and will receive social media files of any purchased images.\nThe full process will include in-person consultations before the event where we discuss what empowerment means to each participant\, and help them set intentions. We will then design a photo concept unique to them\, and discuss potential outfits.\n\nSophie Hague of Positive Phee has offered additional 30 min styling consultations participants can elect to schedule separately. \n\nBe prepared to be open and vulnerable to allow for this full process to take hold.\n\n\nA second consultation to be scheduled after the photos are ready for viewing. SUMMARY:Women's Self Defense 3-hr Intensive (Level 1)
DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\n\nTony Cohen has been teaching military Krav Maga to professional personnel for decades\, and civilian classes since 2011 upon separation from the State of Israel. He has notable students like Daniel Craig and Clive Owen. Tony is an active member of the Ocean Beach community\, and cares about everyone’s safety; and as such has come out of retirement specifically to assist our group of women with some self-defense classes. \nTony is one of the few instructors that are licensed to teach Military level classes to civilians. His course does not use a belt system\, and is not meant to require repeat classes in order to complete the training. (Although you are welcome to attend multiple classes for refreshers/practice) \n\n\n\nThese intensives will focus heavily on situational awareness\, and reactive self-defense with the intent to remove yourself from a dangerous situation. This is not a fighting class\, nor is it intended for you to use in a sport-based manner\, or exercise routine. \n  \n**Please note the following items:\n\nThese courses require a minimum number of participants in order to rehearse the self-defense moves being taught.
