Valentine’s Day has a way of amplifying things.
For some people, it’s celebration.
For others, it’s comparison.
For many, it’s just another reminder of whatever feels unfinished.
This morning, I went to unroll my yoga mats.
They were soaked.
Not damp. Not slightly humid. Fully, unmistakably wet.
Old me would have felt mildly irritated. Maybe dramatic about it. Maybe taken it as a sign that the day was already “off.”
Instead, I sat on the deck and let them dry.
No rushing. No forcing a workaround. No pivot into productivity.
I pulled a card instead.

It was Masterpiece in Progress.
Not finished.
Not polished.
Not performing.Just… in progress.
And I realized something about self-love that doesn’t get talked about much:
Self-love isn’t always doing something special.
Sometimes it’s not spiraling when plans shift.
Sometimes it’s not turning inconvenience into a story about failure.
Sometimes it’s letting the moment be incomplete without making yourself wrong for it.
Lately, I’ve been practicing this in deeper ways.
Showing up for someone I love without abandoning myself.
Staying steady during migraines instead of letting the pain become hopelessness.
Moving gently on the mat instead of needing a perfect flow.
It all feels connected.
Self-love, for me right now, looks like:
- Staying grounded when discomfort lingers
- Choosing presence over fixing
- Trusting that unfinished does not mean unworthy
The card said what I needed to hear.
Masterpiece in Progress.
Not someday.
Not when everything is perfect.
Now.
If today feels tender for you in any way, I hope you remember:
You are allowed to be becoming.
You are allowed to be mid-process.
You are allowed to be unfinished and still deeply worthy.
If you’d like to sit with the full message from the card, you can read it here: https://lunarlotus.org/oracle_card/masterpiece-in-progress/
No pressure. Just a gentle place to land.
With warmth,
Christina 🌙
