Ask and Allow

The Message

Asking is brave.
But allowing?

That’s sacred.

You may long for help, love, validation…
but still find yourself pushing it away.

Not because you don’t want it.

But because receiving requires trust.

Trust in others.
Trust in the world.
Trust in yourself.

It’s easy to micromanage your own needs,
to be the strong one,
to cry,

“Why won’t anyone help me?”
while refusing to let anyone try.

Asking is the first step.
Allowing is the practice.

Let yourself be helped.

Let yourself be seen.

Let yourself be loved, even imperfectly.

Journal Prompts

A reflection on trust, control, and the practice of receiving.

  • When was the last time I truly let someone help me without “managing” how they did it?
  • What do I fear will happen if I receive, without proving I’ve earned it?
  • What compliments or support have I brushed off lately?
  • Can I remember a moment where I allowed… and it felt safe, or good?

Optional Practice:
Next time someone offers to help, pause. Take a breath. Say: “Yes. Thank you.”

Let it land. Let it be enough.
