Asking is brave. But allowing?
That’s sacred.
You may long for help, love, validation… but still find yourself pushing it away.
Not because you don’t want it.
But because receiving requires trust.
Trust in others. Trust in the world. Trust in yourself.
It’s easy to micromanage your own needs, to be the strong one, to cry,
“Why won’t anyone help me?” while refusing to let anyone try.
Asking is the first step. Allowing is the practice.
Let yourself be helped.
Let yourself be seen.
Let yourself be loved, even imperfectly.
A reflection on trust, control, and the practice of receiving.
Optional Practice: Next time someone offers to help, pause. Take a breath. Say: “Yes. Thank you.”
Let it land. Let it be enough.
